Mental Health Support

We all have mental health. We all have mental health - Anna Freud

At Norwood, we would like to support all of our children and families to have good mental health.

Good mental health and wellbeing helps pupils:

  • attend school
  • develop key life skills, particularly social and emotional skills
  • engage in learning
  • achieve academically
  • have better longer term outcomes, such as future employment

John Clare Primary School - Mental Health Support

Norwood Primary School is supported by the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The MHST is part of a national initiative, through the NHS, to improve mental health support for children and young people. The MHST offer a self-referral service for parents/carers to request access to mental health support. At a primary age level, support is provided to parents/carers to support their understanding of their child's needs.

Happy Mind - Mental Wellbeing - Gosford Park Primary School

As part of our universal offer for all of our pupils, we use My Happy Mind to teach pupils about their brains, recognise and manage their emotions, build self-esteem, develop positive relationships with others and work towards aspirations for the future.
