Here is a rundown of everything we will be learning this term!
Theme: Natural disasters
Our learning this term will be based around natural disasters. We will be particularly exploring Tsunamis, including how they are caused, where they occur and what effect they have. This will be linked to our class book; Running Wild. We will also be learning about other natural disasters, such as earthquakes and volcanoes, which we will link into our History topic of the Romans and the Roman city of Pompeii.

English: Persuasion Letter and Fictional Diary Entry
Our English learning will be based around the book Running Wild, we will explore this novel deeply through drama and other fun learning activities.
We will develop our writing skills by writing a persuasion letter to one of the characters from Running Wild, as well as writing our own fictional diary entry from the point of view of one of the characters.
We will also build on our knowledge of natural disasters and the earth by exploring a range of texts about them during our guided reading lessons.
Maths: Multiplication and Division
This term, we will continue to work on our arithmetic skills through Number and Lightning. We will particularly be focussing on becoming very confident in the multiplication and division aspect of this, which includes multiplying a one-digit number by a two-digit number, as well as dividing a two-digit number by a one-digit number. and using these skills to solve problems.
We will also be focusing on learning our times tables facts, as these will be very important for Maths learning in Key Stage 2.
Science: Forces and Magnets
We will be looking as a class at Forces and Magnets, which includes learning about push and pull forces, as well as exploring magnets through practical investigations. We will also be learning about the forces involved in natural disasters.
