This term's theme is The Secret Garden.
We will be continuing looking at Creepy Crawlies but particularly looking at the insect the butterfly. We will also be going back to our work on plants, trees and what things need to grow and be healthy. We will be looking at stories linked to the garden and looking at texts in groups for comprehension.
In English we will be looking at retelling a story and plant poems. We will be looking at a wide variety of texts to inspire us for our own learning. We will be reviewing and consolidation our work on sentence structure and how to make it more interesting for the reader.

In Maths we will be looking at place value and consolidating our learning on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will be continuing to recall and write days of the week, months of the year, counting in 2's, 5's and 10's, halving and quartering shapes and numbers, number facts to 10 and 20, and telling the time.

In Science we will continue our learning of plants and growing, linking our learning to our theme The Secret Garden. We will be using identification charts and keys to help us when we go outside and look for the plants and trees in our school environment. The children will also be trying to set up their own experiment and think about asking questions and how these can be answered in many ways. We will continue to look at the seasons and how they change.
